Created by acclaimed writer and director Ava DuVernay, August 28: A Day in the Life of a People is a film, originally commissioned by NMAAHC in 2016 as part of the museum’s grand opening experience. For a 24-hour period, this film is being made available through a select group of partners to screen the film and reflect on the stories that connect our past, present, and future. Mount Peace Cemetery Association is proud to partner with the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) and award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay to celebrate the museum's 10th anniversary with a special screening of August 28: A Day in the Life of a People.
