May Volunteer Days (4th Saturday)

Mt. Peace Cemetry is hosting a small volunteer clean up to assist in our preservation and restoration efforts of this historic African American burial ground.

Please be aware that we are in the process of land clearing and grave locating so great care must be taken while visiting our cemetery grounds. You will be directed to rake leaves, pick up trash, tree branches, use a wheelbarrow and walk over uneven terrain. Boots or other strong protective shoes are essential as is wearing sunscreen and insect repellant. Wearing long sleeves is also recommended as they add an extra barrier against the outdoor elements while volunteering in the cemetery.

Interested persons must register on our website as we are operating on a limited capacity to adhere to state safety regulations and requirements. Spots are limited to small groups as determined by our event coordinator. We look forward to your service and thank you in advance for your interest!
