Social Reformer Mother Isabel Shipley's Archives Rediscovered in Evanston, Illinois

Isabel Shipley (1843-1915) was born in England and migrated to NJ during the mid-19th century. A pioneer reformer and activist for social justice, Mrs. Shipley was the leader of the African American South Jersey branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union.
